The MAVOLUX 5032

The MAVOLUX 5032 is an easy-to-handle and a high precision measuring device to determine exactly the level of illumination in the unit lux (lx) or footcandle (fc). It enables you to monitor the quality of light sources such as street lighting, lighting of working environments or public buildings, sports facilities or parks, and also the production of luminaires and lamps. A luminance attachment, available as optional accessory, expands the MAVOLUX by the measurement of luminance in candela per square meter (cd/m2) or footLambert. All important types of light can be measured with high precision. The light sensor is color corrected, i.e. ists spectral responsitivity has been matched to that of the human eye V(λ), therefore it is not necessary to apply correction factors. Suitable cosine correction has been integrated in the light sensor probe, so the oblique incident light will be measured accurately.

Measurement according to DIN 5032

The accuracy of V(λ) matching to the human eye is the main difference between the two types MAVOLUX 5032C and MAVOLUX5032B. MAVOLUX 5032C complies with the accuracy class C for illuminance meters of of the Standard Specifications DIN 5032 (German Institute for Standardization DIN), Part 7 (CIE 69), MAVOLUX 5032B complies with class B. High intensity of light such as daylight or headlights can be measured with both MAVOLUX types without applying any additional accessories. Additionally the MAVOLUX 5032B has been expanded by a decade having a initial sensitivity of 0.01 lux within the lowest measuring range, in such a way as to enable it to measure extremely low light intensities, such as emergency lighting.

The MAVOLUX brings along with it an autorange implementation, which automatically selects the best suited measurement range. Alternatively by using the function keys you can manually browse up or down through the measurement ranges. A temporary result buffer enables to hold the measured value for reading at a later date. Furthermore the instruments are provided with a measurement data memory of 100 locations, which can be read and processed with the device or the standard software for PC supplied with the meters.

gLUx Evaluation software

The evaluation software gLux enables to measure at a specified intervall and measuring unit and to list or chart these measured values. Measurement values can be saved as .txt-file, so that the result can be evaluated using a data base or a spreadsheet application. The setup of the device can also be performed by the gLux software. By attaching the measuring device to your PC using the USB interface, it can be energized by the interface for permanent operation. The software supports installation on windows 98SE and downwards compatible systems. Older versions of windows don't support the USB interface.
gLux features additional functions to adjust weighting factors and measured variables, measurement ranges and sampling intervals to continuous measurements. Furthermore gLux offers the rendition of a test pattern with the densities of the SMPTE color bars for acceptance inspections and constancy tests according to IEC 61223-2-5.
The language of the user interface of gLux, german, english, spanish or french, can be chosen by the user on start of the program.
